Larissa Toomey is joining Five Oaks Academy in 2021-2022 as a Middle School Directress, specializing in Mathematics.  Larissa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary School Teaching (Mathematics Major, Education Minor) from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY.  Larissa has over 20 years of experience as a teacher and joins us most recently from Woodward Academy in Georgia where she taught 7th-grade pre-algebra.  She places great value in teaching the importance of mathematics in the real world as well as helping students to build strong critical thinking skills.  Larissa said, “I am excited to join a community that nurtures such a strong sense of family.  I look forward to being among middle schoolers again, helping to strengthen their understanding of math and supporting them in all areas during this critical stage of development.”
