April joined Five Oaks Academy in 2006 and started teaching in 1999.  She serves as a Directress for our Afterschool and Lunch and Learn programs. She is also a Related arts teacher in the Lower Elementary and is the Garden Coordinator.  April attended Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, and has an Associates Degree in Communication and Business Administration.  She is certified in Early Childhood Education from Blue Ridge Technical College in Brevard, NC, and completed coursework at Lander University for  Montessori Primary level education.  She is affiliated with South Carolina Montessori Alliance (SCMA).    April’s previous experience includes preschool and after school teaching at Carousel Corner in Brevard, NC,  Little Beavers Daycare in Asheville, NC, and manager of Young Chefs Academy in Greenville, SC.
